August 28, 2023 — Ag-Grid Energy, a pioneering producer of green electricity and RNG from cow manure and food waste, has announced the appointment of Sherry Cotton as Food Waste Logistics Manager.

For the past four years, Sherry managed food waste logistics in Central New England for Casella Organics, a division of Casella Waste Management, a $1 billion company that leads the industry in environmental sustainability.

Food waste is integral to the Ag-Grid Energy business model. Ag-Grid partners with dairy farmers to produce green electricity and renewable natural gas generated in anaerobic digesters from cow manure and various types of food waste. The food waste is transported to the digester from food processing plants, grocery stores, and large restaurants within a 50-mile radius.

As Food Waste Logistics Manager, Sherry will ensure the efficiency and sustainability of that process. Her experience at Casella Organics makes her supremely qualified. There she worked with the companies that generated food waste, the haulers who trucked the waste to anaerobic digesters, and the digester owners. At Ag-Grid Energy, she will work with partners in those same three categories.

Prior to her work in logistics, Sherry worked in accounting for Casella Organics and previously for several other companies. Earlier in her career she held positions as a paralegal and as an office manager.
