One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Ag-Grid Energy has found a way to take manure and food waste and convert it into electricity.
The company takes the organic material as well as food waste in a 50 mile radius, and takes the carbon from it and turns it into methane gas and carbon dioxide. They then burn it and it turns into electricity.
This form of electricity is more reliable than solar or wind, according to the CEO of Ag-Grid Energy, Rashi Akki. This is because both manure and food waste is a renewable resource.
